Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Public Service, through the supervision of the Deputy Service Director/Superintendent of Engineering, the Senior Engineer is responsible for managing, coordinating, and performing engineering functions including, but not limited to, the planning, design and construction of public improvement projects of both in-house and consultant design; reviewing of subdivisions and site plans; and preparation of feasibility analysis, cost estimates and reports. Performs supervisory and/or administrative duties, and other functions related to the normal operation of the Engineering Division as required. May be designated to act on behalf of the Superintendent of Engineering in his/her absence. Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Acts as Project Coordinator/Contract Manager for capital improvement projects by overseeing and facilitating projects through various phases of development, such as planning, design, bidding, construction, and post-construction follow-up. Ensures that requirements imposed by state law, City Charter, and funding agencies are met. Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
